A $50,000 (and counting) weekend. . .
One of the big, $10,000+ bake sales is located in New York City, beginning at OXO headquarters on Thursday and Friday, followed by Chelsea Market today and tomorrow. It’s the third annual bake sale for the OXO team who have a special connection to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer since they’ve known Liam, the amazing kid who inspired this organization, since before he was born. The team’s passion to raise these critical funds for pediatric cancer research is so clear in every package, every cookie, every face at their events.
In addition to OXO’s sweet success, an amazing volunteer in Greenville, South Carolina is enjoying the fruits of her labors this evening. After registering her bake sale in May, Laura Black spent the summer spreading the word and rallying her entire community to get behind her effort to host a bake sale and raise as much money as possible for pediatric cancer research. Throughout the day today, she sent in pictures of her day, and the last text we received from her said, “$10,000 and counting. . .” How incredible is THAT? After being inspied by several families with children battling cancer, Laura’s efforts have been greatly rewarded. Check out pictures from her event and stay tuned for final totals on both of these amazing events!
